Michael David - Biography

While the antecedents of my work lay in Surrealism, I feel that I have reached deeper into the unconscious world by portraying scenes based in nature, yet visualized as the subconscious mind might see things. It is my feeling that there is a landscape of the mind which does not exactly correspond with what we see in nature. It is a synthesized version of reality which I call DreamRealism. (see Profile page) In effect, what is occurring is a direct communication to the viewers subconscious mind from the artists subconscious mind.
