Daniela Nikolaeva is a versatile artist working in a variety of media: painting, drawing, digital photography, illustration, and animation.
She was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, where she obtained her Master’s Degree in Art. She survived communism and later she traveled through most of Europe, furthering her travels by selling her artworks.
Costumers from Europe, Asia, North and South America own pieces of her art. Her watercolors were very well received not only for their interesting subject matter and unique textures and colors, but also because of the special watercolor technique she had employed in the creation of each piece.
Daniela uses special color pigments to simulate watercolor effects. Her unique technique makes it possible to achieve intensity, brilliance and durability of color, impossible to attain with regular watercolor tints. The color pigments are water-soluble, non-toxic, ecologically safe, resilient, and fade-resistant. If a painting were properly stored, it would last for centuries to come.
Daniela’s artworks have been exhibited in France (Paris, Lyon, and Menton), Italy (Verona, Milan, Alassio, Riva Dell Garda), Austria, The Czech Republic and in Bulgaria.
Daniela immigrated to USA in 1993. Currently she lives in California USA, where she is a professor at The Art Intuitive of California–San Francisco. In her recent artworks she combines traditional painting media with digital media. Daniela is always interested in exhibiting her art at new venues.
