Daniela Nikolaeva is a versatile artist working in a variety of media: painting, drawing, digital photography, illustration, and animation.

She was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, where she obtained her Master’s Degree in Art. She survived communism and later she traveled through most of Europe, furthering her travels by selling her artworks.

Daniela immigrated to USA in 1993. Currently she lives in California, where she is a professor at The Art Intuitive of California–San Francisco.

In her recent artworks she combines traditional painting media with digital media. Daniela is always interested in exhibiting her art at new venues.

A Word From the Artist:

Digital photography is my latest passion. I am not interested in digital editing using Photoshop. Applying a digital filter or an effect is easy; I have been teaching my students how to do that for years.

The part that interests me most is simple, beautiful and honest photography, just using a point-and-shot camera to capture that perfect, candid moment. That's art - the art of life. I am just encapsulating these moments in digital snap shots.
