Canadian artist Christine Belanger creates portraits and drawings in soft pastels.
She is self-taught with no formal training in portraiture. The fascination of the human face
began her late teens. She was introduced to pastels twelve years ago ,and has been using the medium ever since.
The portraits and drawings are created on Canson paper using Rembrandt soft pastels.
Conté pastel pencils and Berol Prismacolor pencils are applied for finer details on many portraits.
The subjects range from drawings of Yesteryear, people, animals, spiritual and nudes.
She now resides on Calumet Island ; a gorgeous region in all four seasons,
and an area known to many tourists for Whitewater rafting
